How to use SkinMedica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

Purpose:

  • AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) are chemical exfoliants that help remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and improve skin texture.

How to Use:

  1. Frequency:

    • Use the cleanser 1 to 2 times per day, depending on your skin type and tolerance.
    • If you have sensitive skin, you may want to start with using it less frequently and gradually increase if your skin tolerates it well.
  2. Application:

    • Wet your face with lukewarm water.
    • Apply a small amount (typically a pea-sized amount) of the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser to your fingertips.
  3. Cleansing:

    • Gently massage the cleanser onto your face using circular motions. Focus on areas that may need extra exfoliation, such as the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin).
    • Be cautious around the eye area to avoid irritation.
  4. Rinse:

    • Thoroughly rinse your face with lukewarm water, ensuring that all the cleanser is removed.
  5. Pat Dry:

    • Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel. Avoid harsh rubbing, as exfoliating cleansers can make the skin more sensitive.
  6. Follow with Skincare Routine:

    • Continue with your regular skincare routine, including toner, serums, and moisturizer.
  7. Sunscreen:

    • It's essential to use sunscreen during the day, especially when using exfoliating products, as they can increase sensitivity to the sun.

Tips:

  • Start slow, especially if you are new to exfoliating cleansers, to allow your skin to adapt.
  • If you experience any irritation, redness, or excessive dryness, reduce the frequency of use.
  • Consider incorporating the cleanser into your evening routine, as exfoliation can make the skin more sensitive to the sun.

Always follow the specific instructions provided on the product packaging, as formulations and usage recommendations may change over time. If you have specific concerns or conditions, it's advisable to consult with a dermatologist for personalized skincare advice.
